Eddie Murphy returns to the role that the whole world loved him for.
Do you remember the movie “Beverly Hills Cop”? This film was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe. It earned $234 million, making it the second biggest hit of 1984, after “Ghostbusters.” The soundtrack with the famous Axel F theme was awarded a Grammy. Three parts of this action comedy have been created, and the fourth part is currently in production.
In the production, which will debut on Netflix under the title “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley”, Murphy will be accompanied by, among others, Taylor Paige, Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinochet and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who in an interview with Empire stated that we will see Murphy in top form. In the film, Foley will have a new partner, played by Gordon-Levitt. According to Bruckheimer, they make a great duo together, and Gordon-Levitt’s character energy is a great contrast to Foley’s. Bruckheimer also announces that the film will not only play on nostalgia, but will also focus on emotions. The production was directed by Mark Molloy.
