Brad Pitt Returns as Cliff Booth in a Gritty New 1970s Hollywood Crime Tale.
Brad Pitt steps back into the shoes of Cliff Booth, the role that earned him an Oscar in 2020, in the upcoming film The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. Netflix has unveiled the first full trailer, giving fans a fresh look at Booth’s chaotic life eight years after the events of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
A New Era: Hollywood, 1977
The sequel transports viewers to Los Angeles in 1977, where Cliff Booth is no longer the stuntman Hollywood relied on. Instead, he’s a man juggling odd jobs — bartending, running a projection booth — and working as a fixer, solving problems for the industry’s elite and its underbelly.
The official synopsis teases a darker, more dangerous world: Hollywood still has problems, and Cliff is the man who handles the ones nobody else wants to touch.

A Star-Studded Web of Characters
Booth’s latest adventure begins when he receives a call from talent agent Karen Crosby (Elizabeth Debicki). Her client, TV superstar Charlie Peters (Scott Caan), is known for performing his own stunts — a detail that immediately catches Cliff’s attention.
As Booth enters Charlie’s orbit, he encounters:
- Toni Peters – Charlie’s sharp, perceptive wife
- Roderick “Hot Rod” Harrison – former football champion turned rising screen icon
- The Verdusco brothers – mysterious gangsters wreaking havoc across the city
What once felt like a Hollywood fairytale now morphs into a crime story soaked in violence, ambition, and desire.

Fincher Directs Tarantino’s Script — A Major Reunion
The film marks a high-profile collaboration: David Fincher directs from a screenplay written by Quentin Tarantino. It’s the first time Pitt and Fincher have reunited since The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in 2008, following their iconic work together on Se7en and Fight Club.
Although the film references Rick Dalton — Leonardo DiCaprio’s character from the original movie — DiCaprio does not appear in the new production.
