Wendy Williams Documentary Series ‘Clap If You Care’ Heads to Peacock in 2027.
Peacock has officially greenlit a new three‑part documentary series exploring the rise, cultural impact and behind‑the‑scenes legacy of daytime talk show icon Wendy Williams. The project, currently titled “Clap If You Care: The Wendy Williams Show,” is set to premiere in 2027 and will revisit the creation, success and dramatic end of one of the most influential talk shows of the 21st century.
A Documentary Without Wendy — But With Her Closest TV Collaborator
Although Williams herself is not involved in the production, the docuseries is being led by someone who knows her show better than anyone: Susanne Bass, the longtime executive producer of The Wendy Williams Show. Bass ran the syndicated program for 13 seasons, and Peacock emphasizes that her firsthand experience will bring “invaluable insight” into the show’s unique place in pop culture.
The series is also executive‑produced by Ian Orefice, Jon Adler, Amanda Spain, Missy Walker (EverWonder Studio), Chris Witherspoon and Vanessa Golembewski.

From Radio Rebel to Daytime Phenomenon
Williams first made her name as a bold, unfiltered radio personality before launching her TV talk show in 2008. Her signature mix of gossip, humor and direct audience engagement — including the famous “How you doin’?” — helped her redefine the daytime talk format.
The show ended in June 2022, following Williams’ extended absence due to medical issues including lymphedema and Graves’ disease.

In 2022, Williams was placed under a court‑appointed guardianship. Two years later, her team revealed she had been diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia — conditions affecting language, behavior and cognitive function.
Despite these diagnoses, Williams has repeatedly and publicly protested the guardianship. She has appeared in paparazzi videos declaring “I want out!”, called into The View to criticize her guardian, and told The Breakfast Club that she feels “in a prison” and is “not cognitively impaired.”
