Have you watched the series “Monk”? The production with Tony Shalhoub in the title role debuted in 2002 and had eight seasons. 12 years after the series finale, Shalhoub will return as Monk in the feature film “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie”.
In the film, we are to see how the lives of the series’ characters have changed since its end. Monk will deal with a personal matter involving his stepdaughter Molly. The creators announce that the story told in the film will be emotional, funny, powerful and will be a commentary on the human condition and the changes that have occurred in the world over the last dozen or so years.
In addition to Shalhoub, the film will feature, among others: Ted Levine, Traylor Howard, Jason Gray-Stanford, Melora Hardin and Hector Elizondo, joined by Caitlin McGee and James Purefoy. The film was written by Andy Breckman (the creator of the series) and directed by Randy Zisk, who also worked on the original format.
The film will debut on December 8 on Peacock.
