Diddy’s sons hit back at 50 Cent’s documentary with big announcement

Diddy’s sons’ docuseries about dad’s trial hit with backlash. The brothers have promised to tell their version of events.

Diddy’s sons have confirmed they are releasing a documentary about their father in a defiant response to 50 Cent’s Netflix series.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sons, Christian Combs and Justin Combs, are set to release a docuseries about their father’s high-profile criminal trial.

Justin, 32, is seen turning on a video projector in the family’s home movie theater in a teaser trailer released Sunday, December 28. A handful of headlines regarding the trial flash on screen as the brothers slowly look towards each other.

“The rise, the family, the foes, the joy, the pain, our voice, our loyalty, the betrayal, the highs, the lows, the love, the hate, the truth, the lies,” the text on screen read.

The trailer wraps as Justin receives a phone call from the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, where the disgraced mogul is currently serving his sentence.

Disgraced hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence behind bars after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution earlier this year.

Following his incarceration, Combs’ long-time rival 50 Cent released a four-part documentary series, titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, detailing the allegations against the Bad Boy Records founder.

The documentary was hugely successful, receiving a 90 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes and racing to the top of Netflix’s viewing charts.

However, the Combs family were less than impressed by the release, branding the documentary a ‘shameful hit piece’ and alleging Netflix had ‘stolen footage’ – a claim which the streamer has denied.

The comments section was flooded with critics, with many claiming, “Nobody care about their POV.”

“Ummmmmmmm WHY tho? Nobody is at all curious about their perspective….. I can promise you,” one follower wrote.

“Yea this ain’t it. Smh,” another commented.

“They are going to defend their father like who cares about their perspective,” a third follower wrote.

Lemuel Plummer, CEO of Zeus Network—the company behind the film—responded to the criticism, claiming, “This documentary is about giving Justin and Christian the opportunity to share their personal story.”

“We’re not here to endorse Diddy or anyone else. As a network, we believe in giving individuals a platform to tell their own experiences, just like any network that enters the documentary space,” Plummer added. “We’re simply allowing these stories to be told, and that’s the essence of what we’re doing here. Thanks for understanding and for letting us bring these narratives to light.”

Meanwhile, 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, has wasted no time in sharing his reaction to the teaser, sharing the clip on his Instagram account alongside the comment: “Wow I want to see this show, I’m not sure this was a good idea.”
