Inside Lana Del Rey’s Most Personal Song Yet — Written With Her Husband

Lana Del Rey Releases Theatrical New Single Co‑Written With Her Husband.

Lana Del Rey has unveiled a new single, “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter,” offering fans another glimpse into her forthcoming album Stove. The track, released on Tuesday, February 17, marks a deeply personal creative moment for the singer — and introduces an unexpected collaborator: her husband, Jeremy Dufrene.

According to a press release, the song was co‑written by Del Rey, her sister Chuck Grant, her brother‑in‑law Jason Pickens, and Dufrene. Production was handled by longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, with additional co‑production and string arrangements by Drew Erickson.

A Dreamy Ballad Rooted in Romance

“White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter” blends Del Rey’s signature cinematic melancholy with a more intimate, earthy tone. The lyrics center on a passionate relationship and Del Rey’s admiration for her husband’s hunting skills — a theme that adds a rustic, almost mythic quality to the track.

She sings:

“I know you wish you had a man like him, it’s such a bummer / When I met him, like an arrow, like a bird in the heart, like a sparrow. We’re a match, he’s just in my bone marrow.”

The song also reflects on Del Rey’s personal struggles and her desire to reconnect and create:

“Everybody knows I had some trouble / But I’m home for the summer / And I wanted to know if I could use your stove / To cook somethin’ up for you…”

A Delayed Album With a Country Edge

Del Rey previously discussed the album — once titled Lasso and later The Right Person Will Stay — in an interview with W Magazine last August. She revealed that the project had been delayed because she wanted to add six more songs, noting that the material had become more autobiographical than expected.

She also shared that the majority of the album carries a country influence, aligning with her recent fascination with storytelling and world‑building within the genre.

Ahead of the album’s release, Del Rey has already shared several singles, including “Bluebird” and “Henry, Come On.” A final release date for Stove has not yet been announced.

A Public Appearance With Her Husband

On February 10, Del Rey attended the Ralph Lauren Fall 2026 fashion show in New York City alongside Dufrene, whom she married in September 2024 in Louisiana. The couple appeared affectionate on the red carpet, sharing a kiss as photographers captured the moment.

With her new single and a highly anticipated album on the horizon, Del Rey continues to expand her artistic universe — this time with her family playing a central role in the creative process.
