A Four-Year Time Jump and a New Threat Wearing the Lupin Mask
Part 3 ended with Assane Diop pulling off his most daring sequence yet: stealing the Black Pearl, winning public sympathy, saving his mother, and then sacrificing his own freedom by turning himself in to protect his family.
Part 4 picks up four years later. Assane has served his sentence and is ready to rebuild his life with Claire and their son. But peace doesn’t last long. A wave of simultaneous museum heists erupts across France — all signed by someone calling themselves Lupin.
To clear his name, Assane must return to the shadows, confront an unknown impersonator, and uncover who has mastered his techniques well enough to frame him.

A Darker, More Psychological Season

The Most Ambitious Structure Yet

Part 4 expands to 8 episodes, making it the largest chapter to date. After the longest hiatus in the show’s history, expectations are sky-high.
Why Omar Sy Keeps Returning to Assane
In comments shared with Netflix Tudum, Sy described Lupin as an “extraordinary plaything”, a character he genuinely enjoys revisiting. The blend of elegance, intelligence, humor, and emotional depth keeps the role fresh — even after years of global success.
What’s at Stake in Part 4
This season must:
- Resolve the cliffhangers left since Assane’s imprisonment
- Introduce a new mystery around the Lupin impostor
- Prove the series can maintain momentum after a long break
- Deliver the biggest, boldest heists yet
With its expanded scope and darker tone, Part 4 aims to elevate Lupin to a new level — both narratively and emotionally.
