Actor Ryan O’Neal died on Friday after suffering from cancer since 2012. His daughter Tatum O’Neil announced the sad news via Instagram.

The world fell in love with O’Neal when he played the main male role in the now cult drama “Love Story” in 1970. For his role in this film, the actor was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe. He was later nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in “Paper Moon”, where he starred with his daughter, who won an Oscar for her performance. O’Neal was professionally active until 2017. In 2021, he received his own star on the Los Angeles Walk of Fame located at 7057 Hollywood Boulevard.
In 2006, he was diagnosed with leukemia. The actor beat the disease, but in 2012 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was from stage 4 prostate cancer that the actor died on December 8 this year. His daughter Tatum announced the actor’s death. The actor had four children. For most of his life, he was in a relationship with actress and model Farrah Fawcett.
