Shrek 5 Adds New Voices to the Swamp

Something big, green, and very familiar is heading back to cinemas in 2027 — and no, it’s not Brainiac’s rumored debut in Man of Tomorrow.

DreamWorks has officially confirmed that Shrek 5 will bring Mike Myers’ iconic ogre back to the big screen nearly twenty years after Shrek Forever After. But that’s not the only exciting news. Fans of Superman (2025) and Saturday Night Live have even more reason to celebrate: two rising stars have been cast as Shrek and Fiona’s sons.

During the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, it was announced that Skyler Gisondo and Marcello Hernández will voice Fergus and Farkle — the brothers of Zendaya’s Felicia, who was revealed earlier this year.

Skyler Gisondo, known for playing Jimmy Olsen in Superman, continues his upward trajectory in Hollywood. He’ll reprise his DCU role in an upcoming TV series featuring Gorilla Grodd, and he’s set to appear alongside Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, and Ariana Grande in Focker In-Law (2026).

Marcello Hernández, a standout performer on SNL since 2022, brings his comedic energy to the franchise. After making his film debut in Happy Gilmore 2 and joining the cast of The Angry Birds Movie 3, he now steps into the world of Far Far Away.

heir casting is especially amusing given that Hernández recently joked about the original Shrek during a Weekend Update sketch — possibly while already secretly attached to the project.

Gisondo and Hernández join returning stars: Mike Myers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as Fiona, Eddie Murphy as Donkey.
