Spike Lee and Denzel Washington are collaborating again

Nearly 20 years after Spike Lee and Denzel Washington last worked together, the two are reuniting. This time it’s for a new version of a Kurosawa classic.

The director and actor last collaborated on “Inside Man” in 2006, after working as a duo on “Mo’ Better Blues”, “Malcolm X” and “He Got Game”.

When they now reunite, it is for a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s film from 1963 with the Norwegian title “Himmel og helvete”, which in English is called “High and Low” – which is also the new title.

Filming starts in March. The film is released on the cinema market by the company A24, before it becomes available in Apple’s streaming services.
