Last month, rumors emerged that Greg Daniels was planning to return to “The Office.” The issue of a possible return to this format, either in the form of a reboot or a sequel, has been discussed for years. Is work on the series actually ongoing?
In the Puck News material, journalists Matthew Belloni and Jonathan Handel described that when the situation in Hollywood returns to normal, work will begin on several projects, including the reboot of “The Office” (US. version). Fans of the series did not respond to the new rumors with enthusiasm, fearing that in the modern atmosphere the creators could not afford to make jokes like in the original American version and that a possible new cast would not be as good as the previous one. Now Daniels himself has commented on the rumors.
In an interview with Collider, he stated:
“Well, I think that it’s very speculative. The fact that it kind of blew up based on one line in a puck piece was kind of cool, I guess, in the sense that the fans still care a lot. But the thing I would say is, when there’s something to announce, I will definitely announce it.”
