The long-awaited film about Amy Winehouse is being made. “Back to Black” is a feature film about the musical icon directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, director of the hit “Fifty Shades of Grey”. We have just learned the premiere date of the production and we know who will play the role of Amy Winehouse.
“Back to Black” will present the artist’s musical journey that took her from the crazy and colorful London Camden High Street of the 1990s to international fame and back. We will also find out what the price of fame is and Amy’s perspective.
The screenplay for the film is written by Matt Greenhalgh. “Back to Black” was created with the full support of record labels Universal Music Group, Sony Music Publishing and The Amy Winehouse Estate. The main role will be played by rising film star Marisa Abela.
Back to Black will be released in cinemas on April 12, 2024 in the UK.
