Naked Attraction has become one of the most infamous and bizarre dating shows ever to air on British television. Even in a landscape filled with eccentric reality formats, few series have pushed boundaries quite like the Channel 4 programme hosted by Anna Richardson. The premise alone is enough to make many viewers blush: contestants choose a date by examining fully naked strangers, revealed gradually from the feet upward.

Contestants Earned… Nothing
One former participant, Gavin, revealed in an interview with iNews that people who actually appeared on the show were not paid at all. Despite standing nude in front of cameras, crew members, and millions of viewers, contestants received no financial reward.
The only individuals who earned anything were those placed on standby. These backup participants, who were kept on set in case someone dropped out, received £75—but only if they didn’t end up appearing on camera.
This means that the people who fully exposed themselves on national television did so entirely for free, motivated by curiosity, confidence, or the desire for a memorable experience rather than money.

Celebrity Participation: Rare but Not Impossible
Although producers have floated the idea of a celebrity edition, it has never materialised due to a lack of willing participants. Still, one notable figure did make an unexpected appearance: Lauren Harries, known from Celebrity Big Brother, took part in a 2019 episode.
Her presence came as a surprise to viewers and even to the chooser, who had no idea she was a public figure. Harries was eventually eliminated, leading to a tense exchange that later made headlines.
Anna Richardson has mentioned that celebrities such as Duncan James from Blue and TV personality Ulrika Jonsson have expressed interest in a special edition, but the concept has never progressed beyond discussion.
